Porch gets $65 million to build out network of housing contractors

Porch, the Seattle-based startup that connects homeowners with contractors, has raised another $65 million to build up its national network.


Launched just 16 months ago, Porch has received more than $100 million in total funding with this latest round from Valor Equity Partners, Founders Fund, Battery Ventures, Panorama Point Partners, Lowe's Home Improvement and TV personality Ty Pennington, among others.



The premise behind Porch is that contractors on the network leave a history of their recent jobs. So if you're looking for someone to, say, fix your fence, you'll be able to see who's fixed your neighbors' fences, what they thought of the job and a price range for the job.
