Mental mistakes can hurt a football team, but they hurt even more during the NFL playoffs.
Carolina Panthers punt returner Brenton Bersin was set to field an Arizona Cardinals punt on Saturday. When the punt came up short, Bersin decided for some reason to slide at the ball while throwing his hands up.
The Cardinals ended up recovering the muffed punt, then drove down the field for a touchdown to draw closer at 10-7.
