Oregon's Byron Marshall Nearly Drops Ball Before End Zone on 70-Yard TD

That was too close.

On Oregon's first offensive play of the second half, Marcus Mariota hit Byron Marshall for a 70-yard touchdown. However, Marshall nearly let go of the ball before crossing the goal line.

Fortunately, he let go of the ball right after breaking the plane. Michael Shamburger from The Big Lead provided a photo of Marshall as he crossed the goal line.

A similar play earlier in the season helped Oregon get into the College Football Playoff. In November against Utah, a Utes player dropped the ball before reaching the end zone, allowing Oregon to return it 99 yards for a touchdown.

Marshall might want to consider holding onto the ball through the entire play next time.
