Timothy Bradley is hoping he can return to elite contender status in his bout with Argentine Diego Chaves Saturday night at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas.
While Bradley (31-1) lost his last bout and his WBO welterweight title to Manny Pacquiao, this is not a comeback or redemption fight. It's just a fight to show that he belongs with the best fighters in the game.
Bradley comes into this welterweight fight as a clear favorite. The rugged Chaves (23-2) has recent losses to Keith Thurman and Brandon Rios and has yet to show he can beat the top names in the division.
The fight card on HBO gets underway at 10 p.m. ET, with bouts on the undercard featuring Jose Benavidez (21-0) vs. Mauricio Herrera (21-4) and Matt Korobov (24-0) vs. Andy Lee (33-2). The Korobov-Lee fight will be for the vacant WBO middleweight title.
We will be here for all the live action.
