Oklahoma City Thunder guard Derek Fisher was forced to momentarily leave Game 3 against the San Antonio Spurs after suffering a cut to his head, per USA Today's Sam Amick :
Operation Sports' Steve Noah grabbed an image of the injury:
While Fisher doesn't play a huge role for OKC , his team needs all the help it can get to overcome a 2-0 series hole. The Thunder are facing a must-win game Sunday night, and not having Fisher there to back up Reggie Jackson at the point makes their job that much harder.
The 39-year-old showed in Game 1 that he's still capable of having a hot shooting night. He scored 16 points in Oklahoma City's 122-105 loss, knocking down four of his six three-point shots.
Fisher can also be a calming presence on the floor for Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook when things start going wrong for OKC . The five-time NBA champion knows what it takes to prevail in the postseason.
Given the rather innocuous nature of the injury, Fisher shouldn't spend too much time off the floor.
