John Lewis unveils new Christmas ad

LONDON — Shops are playing Bing Crosby, festive lights are draped over Regent Street, and Starbucks have switched to the red cups. Like it or not, Christmas is coming early to London. Now UK department store chain John Lewis has kicked off its own countdown by unveiling its traditional festive advert.


Its annual videos have become an institution in the UK, and the retailer spent £1 million on this year's clip in hopes of replicating the success of previous campaigns.



The latest video, entitled "Monty's Penguin," is meant to evoke "the magic of make-believe at Christmas through a child's eyes," John Lewis says. Read more...
