Summer isn't even over, but it's not too early to start booking your holiday travel. Reserving your Thanksgiving flight before Labor Day will save you some serious cash.

Last year, 43.4 million Americans traveled for Thanksgiving, according to AAA. More than 3 million of them traveled by air, and about 40% flew on the Wednesday before the holiday.

If you will be flying this year, purchasing your flight for Thanksgiving before Labor Day can save you about $140 on average. That's according to travel booking site Hipmunk, which analyzed data from last year to identify the best times to book tickets and to travel. Read more...
