Every child should be told they matter and have value and are loved. But imagine how it must feel as a teenager to hear those words followed by a very real, life-changing surprise promise of security and stability too? Tens of thousands of teens in the U.S. are waiting and hoping to experience what happens to Meredith in this video, and over 23,000 of them won't get to before it's too late. Hopefully that context helps explain the tears of joy you see here — and the ones falling from my face.
