You scroll through Facebook and you can't escape them. Videos of your best friend, your college roommate, your cousin crowd the page, all with the same purpose: They've accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge.
Love or hate these super-soaked videos, we can't deny their effectiveness. The challenge has raised more than $80 million and counting for ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Celebrities like Chris Pratt, Matt Damon and Bill Gates have taken the challenge, not to mention dozens of other celebrities.
Like any viral activity, copycats are branching off of the same challenge, some simply mocking it for wasting clean water. From dirt to wine, to dust and sand, these alternative challenges have found other ways to show support for a cause. Read more...
