Astronaut Chris Hadfield didn't get to space by some ridiculous '90s-movie-caliber accident. He picked a direction and worked his ass off to get there. It's pretty good advice for people who want to be astronauts, but it's also good advice for everyone else. You get to pick who you are, so don't let life decide it for you.

You might find yourself with a janitorial job at NASA and last night you didn't get any sleep because your roommate didn't tell you she mixed the milk in the fridge with Red Bull for a science experiment. You're so sleepy that you decide to take a quick nap in what looks like a broom closet, but it's actually a cargo hold and it's the day of the big launch. Oh no! Crazy! You accidentally get launched into space with the cute astronaut who shot you down in the bar from scene 2.
