Sinai in Egypt is The Most Popular Mount Among Tourists

Sinai Mountain is the place where it is considered that Moses received the Ten commandments of God and which to this day is visited by many believers. Whether you believe this story or not, you can not remain indifferent to the spectacular sight on the desert, which opens at an altitude of 2285 m. Moses Mountain is located on the southern part of the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt. SIN is the Hebrew name for God’s wisdom. SINAI term is used only since the appearance of Christianity. At Sinai the people through Moses received the Ten Commandments. In the Sinai desert also is raised the chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Later was created the oldest Christian monastery of St. Catherine, which is located in the south of the Sinai Peninsula. To Mount Sinai you can come in many different ways, but the best known and most challenging road is composed of 3750 “Stairway of Repentance” – named after a monk who has built.

“Stasis of camels”, named after the Bedouins who stand there with their camels and wait for tired tourists to help is also another option to climb. This option is more conducive to your knees and climbing takes about 3 hours. On the way to the top, tourists resting in surrounded cracks in rocks where the hosts welcomed with hot tea. At the top also is Chapel “Holy Trinity”, a Greek Orthodox Church built in 1934 on the ruins of a church from the 4th century. In that chapel once there were beautiful paintings and decorations. But, after a group of tourists which desecrated it, now is mostly locked to visit.
