The San Diego Chargers have reportedly reached an agreement with free-agent wide receiver Stevie Johnson on a three-year contract.

Johnson spent one disappointing season with the San Francisco 49ers. He caught just 35 passes for 435 yards and three touchdowns. The wideout had 301 catches for more than 3,800 yards and 28 touchdowns in six seasons with the Buffalo Bills.
The New England Patriots were also linked to him. Mark Daniels of the Providence Journal notes he'll likely get more consistent targets in San Diego, though:
Johnson is not a big-play threat. Instead, he gets open by being one of the most efficient route-runners in the NFL. That should translate to more success with Philip Rivers at the helm than it did with Colin Kaepernick last year.
He gives San Diego another reliable target to go along with Keenan Allen, Malcom Floyd and Antonio Gates. It's fair to expect a bounce-back season from him in 2015.
