With a two-and-a-half-hour bus ride hanging in the balance, Boston Red Sox players gave it their all during a relay race Sunday morning.
The Red Sox have a game against the Miami Marlins in Jupiter, Florida, on Tuesday. That's a lengthy excursion from their spring training home in Fort Myers.
To determine who will be making the trip, the Red Sox battled it out in an obstacle-course challenge.
Here's what the players had to do, via ESPNBoston.com's Gordon Edes:
An obstacle-course relay race for the position players, which included the fireman’s carry (sandbag over the shoulder), placing a rubber ball on three cones and making sure it stayed on top, ladder run, knocking a water bottle off its stand with a throw, transferring weighted balance balls from one side to the other, clearing a set of hurdles and a final ladder run.
This was a pretty official event, by the way. There was a referee and everything.
