A convicted rapist sentenced to death for a brutal gang attack and murder of a woman on a bus in India in 2012 says the victim would still be alive today if she had not fought back against her attackers.
The incident on a New Delhi bus shocked the international community and forced a closer look at India's treatment of women, in a country that traditionally saw women's be blamed for rape.
Instead, the 23-year-old woman should have remained silent, said her attacker
"Then they would have dropped her off after 'doing her,'" said Mukesh Singh in a 2013 interview for a documentary being released Sunday. Singh was driving the bus during the majority of the time the 23-year-old woman was being attacked. Read more...
