Miami Dolphins wide receiver Mike Wallace was benched in Week 17's 37-24 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday.
Wallace, who had zero catches on just one target in the game, also did not speak to the media. Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald documented what Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin said regarding his star player:

Jackson weighed in on the situation brewing in Miami after the game:
This is a bizarre episode in what's been a rather disappointing stint for Wallace in Miami since he signed a massive five-year, $60 million deal prior to the start of the 2013 campaign.
Considering the sizable investment the Dolphins have made in Wallace, they need more production and consistency out of him. Wallace is an electric deep threat who also has upside still to explore, and he's an invaluable weapon to developing young quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
A rather poor end to the 2014 season was compounded by Wallace's antics, which don't bode well for a team that ought to be in a playoffs-or-bust mindset next year.
