Disney World to accept Apple Pay, Google Wallet starting this week

Those headed to Walt Disney World for the holidays may rarely have to pull out a credit card.


Disney has announced that its massive Orlando-area theme park and resort will now accept contactless forms of payment like Apple Pay and Google Wallet beginning this Wednesday, Dec. 24



The rollout will cover most of the park's stores, bars, quick-service restaurants and ticket booths. But table-service restaurants and other places that use portable payment terminals will be excluded for now, the company said


The theme park has already started to transition into contactless payments with its ticketing system. The new mobile payments rollout will make use of the RFID system already in place for the park's MyMagic+ program, which includes water-proof wristband tickets that resort guests can use to pay for food and merchandise.
