Dani Alves Injury: Updates on Barcelona Star's Thigh and Return

Dani Alves' 200th match for Barcelona didn't go as planned, as the veteran defender was forced to leave the pitch with an apparent thigh injury during the Catalans' 0-0 draw at Getafe.

Sport announced the news after the match (h/t Barcastuff):

The 31-year-old has been Barcelona's designated starter at the right-back position since joining the club in 2008, and he was making his 200th appearance for the Blaugrana on Saturday, per Barcastuff:

The veteran is in the final year of his contract and playing for a new deal, and as reported by the Huddersfield Examiner's Jonas Giaever, Barcelona's options behind Alves are limited:

Should Alves miss a significant amount of time, manager Luis Enrique will likely look at Douglas as his replacement or opt to move to the 3-4-3 Barcelona used in their Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain.

Barcelona will face Huesca in the Copa Del Rey in midweek, and defending a 4-0 lead against the lower-league side, the Blaugrana shouldn't be concerned taking the pitch without their star defender.
