Think Laws Might Be Biased Against Women? You’ll Want To See This Comparison.

It's a double standard, no doubt about it.





This chart compares the number of regulations passed in 2013 aimed at restricting access to abortions (91) to the number of regulations passed restricting access to guns (64).


U.S. District Judge Myron Thompson ruled against laws in Alabama restricting abortion because they place an undue burden on women trying to exercise their right to choose. In his ruling, he pointed out that if similar restrictions were placed on obtaining guns, defenders of the law would have to do “a heck of a lot of explaining — and rightly so in the face of an effect so severe.” Read Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's comments about how the Supreme Court has consistently failed to protect the rights of women. If anyone can say that, she can.
