The NFL May Get A Lot Of Things Wrong, But A Former Player Is Right In His Epic Rant On Parenting

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was deactivated indefinitely from his team after admitting to repeatedly hitting his 4-year-old son with a "switch" (a small, thin tree branch) and being indicted on child abuse charges as a result.

Former Minnesota Vikings player, NFL Hall of Famer, and current sports commentator Cris Carter had one of the clearest, rawest, and most personal reactions thus far.

This clip aired on ESPN's "Sunday NFL Countdown" and was just one of several public statements about "spanking" and child abuse coming out of the professional sports world in the aftermath of Adrian Peterson's indictment. For more information on child abuse and how to recognize the signs, check out this helpful fact sheet from ChildWelfare.gov.
