The suspense ends when the Detroit Lions and New York Giants finally kick off at 7:10 p.m. ET at Ford Field.
The Giants knocked Detroit out of playoff contention in 2013, fittingly tying the game late on a pick-six before finishing off the Lions in overtime.
But revenge won't have a role tonight.
Detroit needs the Jim Caldwell era to be the dawn of a brighter day filled with defensive coordinator Teryl Austin's blitzes and offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi's Saints-inspired offense. It's a time for hope and optimism, not remorse and retribution.
