Indianapolis Colts vs. Jacksonville Jaguars: Complete Week 3 Preview for Jaguars

After beginning the season with two losses, the Jacksonville Jaguars will welcome the division-rival Indianapolis Colts to EverBank Field on Sunday at 1 p.m. EST.

According to NFL.com, the Colts (0-2) come into Jacksonville with the league's seventh-best scoring offense. Led by young quarterback Andrew Luck, the Colts also possess the league's seventh-best passing offense.

Unfortunately for the Colts, their top-tier offense is weighed down by a defense that is allowing 30.5 points a game and 409.5 yards per game. The Colts also have a minus-three turnover differential and have recorded one sack.

The good news for the Colts is that despite their difficulties, the Jaguars have been considerably worse.

The Jaguars currently feature the league's 31st-ranked offense and 32nd-ranked defense in terms of points scored and points allowed. Currently, the Jaguars are allowing 434.5 yards per game to opposing offenses and 5.3 yards per play. The only silver lining here is that the Jaguars currently have a plus-one in turnover differential.

On offense, the Jaguars have been abysmal. Quarterback Chad Henne is only completing 53.5 percent of his pass attempts and has been sacked a league-leading 13 times. The Jaguars are averaging just 2.5 yards per carry in the run game and are a mere 5-of-27 on third-down conversion attempts.

Overall, this matchup looks like a difficult one for the Jaguars. While the Colts are an effective team that’s capable of still winning the division, the Jaguars are a rebuilding team trying to find its stride.
