"The Falling Man," a photo of a person who had leapt from a burning World Trade Center tower on Sept. 11, 2011 stirred controversy for its visceral nature. Of all the horrifying photos from the attacks, it struck a chord like no other


The dissemination of the photo caused controversy, seen as a violation of the privacy of the victim and his family. The photo became less common as media outlets stopped using it.
