Ever heard of the "Mark Zuckerberg effect"? That's the tendency for big tech investors to support ideas from people who kind of fit the famous Facebook founder's profile of a young, slouchily dressed white boy from an Ivy League school. Ugh. Thank God these young girls are determined to get in the game anyway despite the odds and lack of diversity. Maybe one day, there will be an effect named after one of them.
This is the first episode of the new web series by Black Girls Code, an organization determined to show the world that black girls can code by teaching programming and game design. Go ahead and show these brilliant girls some love on Facebook and Twitter.
