Charles Tillman's 2014 season may be in doubt after he injured his right triceps on Sunday night against the San Francisco 49ers.
Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune reported that Tillman wouldn't return to the game. He also pointed out that the veteran cornerback was placed on injured reserve last season after tearing his right triceps:
ESPN Chicago's Jeff Dickerson didn't think the initial prognosis looked good:
The NBC cameras caught Tillman crying on the sidelines after he exited the game, via CBSSports.com's Will Brinson:
Tillman appeared in eight games last year before going down. He intercepted three passes and recovered two fumbles. His three defensive touchdowns led the league.
Few players are more important to the Bears defense than Tillman. He's a two-time Pro Bowler and made the All-Pro Team in 2012. If he's out for a number of games, Chicago could be in serious trouble.
There's also the bigger picture in terms of what this means for Tillman. At 33 years old, he's no spring chicken, so a season-ending injury could have a major impact on his career.
