When Tim Cook unveiled the Apple Watch on Tuesday, audience members roared with approval, making audible "oohs" and "ahhs," as the device's feature list was rolled out. But there was one feature — or rather, lack thereof — that Cook failed to highlight: battery life.
During the event, the company's CEO said, "[Apple Watch] can be worn all day, for any occasion." But as more details emerge, it's becoming clear that the device's battery won't last much longer than that one day.
The first clue that battery life posed a challenge for the Apple Watch: While on stage, Cook emphasized the efficiency of the device's inductive charging mechanism, but did not mention how long that charge would last when its battery is fully charged. Read more...
