Stars' Ryan Garbutt Ejected for Spearing Ducks' Corey Perry in Groin

The Dallas Stars were forced to play without one of their players for most of Game 5 against the Anaheim Ducks after he was involved in an unfortunate incident.

Dallas' Ryan Garbutt received a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct after he speared Anaheim's Corey Perry in the groin at 9:11 of the first period. Even though it came during a line change, the referees noticed it.

The penalty did lead to some action. The Stars tied the game with a shorthanded goal, but the Ducks answered with a go-ahead goal less than 30 seconds later. Anaheim went on to capture a 6-2 victory, with the final goal courtesy of Perry, in Game 5 to take a 3-2 series lead.

Of course, Ducks fans might see this incident as payback for Perry's spearing of Stars captain Jamie Benn in Game 2, via CBS Sports' Chris Peters.
