Treat Yourself with a Great Vacation – Visit Coorg

India is a land of diversity and beauty – the statement actually holds water because India has so many beautiful places to get lost in. Apart from many conventional tourist attractions, India has some off-beat travel destinations too, that are extremely beautiful and worth a visit. And one of those places is Coorg.

A lot of tourists opt for a Bangalore Mysore Coorg tour package to get an all in one flavour of these three places. The Coorg district (also known as Kodagu) is a petite district in Karnataka and it has a lot to offer to its visitors. From the beautiful coffee plantations and the greenery to the misty mountains and the wildlife sanctuaries, there are many things that you can explore here.

To be specific about what you can expect from this place, here is a list of tourist attractions you can glance through:

Abbey Falls

One of the best things about Coorg is the Abbey falls. This beautiful falls is a mere kilometre away from the Madikari Town, and is surrounded by coffee plantations and spice estates. It is actually the Kaveri River that is flowing through the rocks and creating the falls. The best time to visit this beautiful place is between November and December. If you are a pluviophile, visit the place during monsoon to enjoy the rain.

Brahmagiri Peak

Treat your adventurous side by escaping in the greenery and woods of the Brahmagiri Peak. The peak is incredibly beautiful, and while you trek through places to reach the peak, you witness breathtaking flora, streams of sparkling water, and grasslands. The peak is also home to many wild animals like Lion-tailed Macaque, Jungle Cat, Spotted Deer, Nilgiri Langur, and Giant Flying Squirrel.

Dubare Elephant Camp

The Dubare Elephant Camp is home to a large number of elephants. Visiting the place will help you get up close with these giant yet adorable animals, which is an experience you should not miss out on. The camp has almost 150 elephants in total. Take a day or two off from work and pay a visit here to catch a glimpse of the life of these enchanting animals. Experience the birth of an elephant, and its childhood when it’s fed and trained by the mahouts. What more? Well, you can take a coracle ride on the river Cauvery and get to see crocodiles, sloth bears, peacocks, wild dogs and gaur.

Iruppu Falls

The Iruppu falls is among the most popular Coorg destinations among travellers and understandably so- the beauty of the falls cannot be explained in mere words. River Lakshmana Tirtha is flowing through the green mountains from a height of 50 feet and that is an astoundingly beautiful sight to witness. Hence, a visit to this place is a must.
