Brixton is one the most popular places in London. It’s full of local culture and history of London. It’s basically located in South London and has been named as one of the most interesting place of London City. However, still lots of new and amazing things are going on in this area.

If you have ever heard of the theatre Kennington Oval then you will be surprised to know that this will be relocated to Somerleyton Road of London city to an another theatre Ovalhouse which in under experiment. The people of Brixton will get a new cultural venue in the form of Ovalhouse Theatre. You can find many nice fairs and food markets in Windrush Square which shows us another side of Brixton for which is famous around the world. The complete market is full of traders. You will feel like whole market is an Electric Avenue an there is lots of nice shops and indoor markets where you can find Champagne. There is one more amazing place Pop Brixton. This place is unique as it’s constructed mainly from old shipping containers. Once you see this you will feel like it’s a nice example of well construction and engineering and innovation like that of The Montcalm hotel at the brewery London city. This place is new which adds to the network of independent businesses being carried out underground and railway stations.

Brixton is a self dependent place in most of the scenarios. It’s having its own currency (Brixton Pound), Own Brewery (Brixton Brewery) which produces lots of multi-coloured products which you can find in all the Pubs of Brixton. Also, Brixton is having its own Newspaper (Brixton Bugle).

The Brixton is most popular for its large sized Pubs playing some nice Live Music and serving very nice multi-coloured drinks. Out of these pubs many has been shut down and many are those which have been among the best Pubs at this place however, there is one old pub which is still in charm and still serving the best in the city. This Pub name is Hootenanny. One of the most popular and equally respected live venues in the world is The O2 Brixton Academy. There is another club where you can see a very long queue of people to get in. This club is The Electric Brixton which was formerly known as the Fridge.

If you are very much fond of live music and live bands and want to enjoy them too then you have another place where you can find lot of live music and very nice Bands performing Live. The place for lots of emerging bands is behind the Brixton hill. This place is Windmill Brixton. Also, you can see a 200 year old windmill which is actually functioning in this area. This windmill is Brixton Windmill. This is also a landmark of this are from the very old time. There is a belief that the name of Brixton is after the boundary stone which was emerged by Lord Brixi; however no one knows the actual source of its name.

The market of Brixton is full of varieties of products from all over the world. Whether you want to buy food, clothes or anything else you just go to this market and but all these things in a single visit.

You can see lots of people keeping Brixton’s pedestrians busy all the time however, in recent years the streets of Brixton is busy in the month of august at afternoon time with music systems, foods, drinks, clothes, exhibitions, live music and live bands performing which you can easily enjoy while walking the street. This has really changed the traditional look of Brixton which has placed it in one of the most noticeable place in the world.

Apart from this in the Festive seasons there are lots of activities in Brixton which organises free Art workshops and lots of volunteer opportunities to Young people of Brixton. Brixton has become the place of party where even after party the game is not over. You can always see the fun is still continued after evening time 7-8 PM onwards.

There are many interesting people in Brixton whom you can meet behind the stalls in the street and you can enjoy lots of rich stories from them. They will tell you about lots of historical stories related to Brixton which are quite interesting. You can find many nice cousins from lots of nice places from all over the world whether it’s India, Africa, Asia or South America. The markets of Brixton consist of shops having much Vintage collection of clothes which you can buy in very affordable prices. The residential area of Brixton is also very much fascinating with leafy rows of terrace homes and convenient stores in every corner. You can clock some nice pictures as well if you wish to.

The Ritzy Picture house is the largest Cinema in UK which is an independent cinema.  Also, the Brockwell Park which offers very nice venue for tennis courts and football can be visited specially in the summer. There is one cafĂ© at the ground floor of Brockwell Hall which sells tea, cake and ice-creams as well.
